Manitoba's Provincial Political Map

What the map shows

This map visualizes Manitoba's provincial political landscape by dividing the province into its 57 electoral divisions, commonly known as ridings or constituencies, as of Sept 27, 2026. A riding (or constituency) is a defined geographic area drawn according to population and regional boundaries, and each one is represented by a single elected official called a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). An MLA serves as the direct local representative for the residents living in their district, advocating for community issues, debating legislation, and voting on provincial policy in the Legislative Assembly. The map uses party branding colors, orange for the governing Manitoba New Democratic Party (NDP), blue for the Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba (PC), red for the Manitoba Liberal Party, and grey for others. A riding with a serving minister is indicated by a red dot.

Key highlights:

• Province-Wide: Out of 57 ridings, the New Democratic Party (NDP) holds 34 seats, the Progressive Conservatives (PC) hold 20, the Liberal Party holds 1, and 2 seats are held by Independents.
• Winnipeg: The NDP holds 28 of 32 ridings, while the PCs hold 2, the Liberals hold 1, and an Independent holds 1.
• Brandon: The city's 2 ridings are split, with the NDP holding Brandon East and the PCs holding Brandon West.
• Outside Winnipeg: The PCs hold 18 of 25 ridings, while the NDP holds 6 and an Independent holds 1.

The map is live and fully browsable at teplomaps.ca. It shows not only Winnipeg but all of Manitoba. You can explore all ridings, see party affiliations and leadership, check cabinet minister statuses, and more.

In addition to basic legislative boundaries, the map highlights which MLAs hold elevated executive roles as Ministers. A Minister (or Cabinet Minister) is an MLA appointed by the Premier to lead a specific government department, such as Education, Finance, Energy, or Health. While standard MLAs focus on constituency advocacy and legislative debate, Cabinet Ministers hold direct executive authority to manage ministry budgets, direct provincial policy, and sponsor government bills.
